Hello.
We are a mother-daughter quilting duo with over two decades of experience in designing and making quilts together.
Our deep-rooted love for beautiful fabrics and clever quilt design serves as the driving force behind our design process. Our primary goal is to create quilts that not only inspire but also educate, introducing you to clever techniques and innovative quilting rulers (we always try to include alternative templates). Above all, we aim to design quilts that that look amazing and have that WOW factor!
We strongly believe that patchwork and quilting need not be an intimidating process, and we strive to take the scariness out of it. The majority of our patterns are beginner-friendly, and we invest a huge effort in ensuring our patterns are clear and user-friendly. We are known for our concise, well-illustrated instructions, and we take immense pride in this aspect of our work.
We are approachable and friendly, so if you ever find yourself stuck or uncertain about any of our patterns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us via email. We are always happy to help!
Our Books & Patterns.
Writing quilting books has always been in our blood. Pam’s first book, The Quilt Room Workshops, was published in 1992, swiftly followed by The Quilter's Workbook in 1993.
In 2006, something very special occurred. During our time at Quilt Market in Houston, we received a gift - a jelly roll - from our wonderful Moda rep, Susan. It was an inspirational moment for us, leading to an explosion of design ideas. We exhibited a selection of our quilts at The Festival of Quilts quilt show, catching the attention of David & Charles, our publishers. This led to our first book on pre-cuts, Jelly Roll Quilts, which was fast-tracked and released in early 2008. To our amazement, it enjoyed a global success that exceeded all our expectations.
Since then, we have published an additional thirteen books focusing on pre-cuts. We also embarked on self-publishing a series of pattern booklets and patterns. In 2021, we independently published our book Quilts from Quarters - this has since been published by Martingale and now David & Charles. In May 2023, our compilation, The Best of Jelly Roll Quilts, hit the shelves.
We distribute many of our patterns abroad, particularly in the United States. Additionally, we make regular contributions to publications such as Today's Quilter and participate in online and television craft shows.
We love staying busy and you can always expect a new quilt project up our sleeves!
About Nicky.
My home is Horsham, West Sussex with my husband, Rob and our three children - Freddie, Jack and Ava who are all growing up way too fast. My grown up step-daughter, Natalie, has moved out but often drops by for dinners, drinks and dog walks. Life is wonderfully busy and, in my free time, I really enjoy the gym, coffee, my kindle, seaside walks, binge worthy telly (currently loving Ted Lasso and RHOBH) and Saturday night movie nights with the kids. I’m also very partial to a chilli margarita.
About Pam.
Around 21 years ago, my husband, Nick, and I made the decision to relocate to the picturesque region of Cornwall. We found our dream home in a charming old mill nestled beside the river Lynher. Our life here has been filled with the delightful chaos of three mischievous dogs, a lively bunch of chickens and a steadily expanding family of guinea fowl. Looking out over the river from my sewing room, I couldn't wish for a more inspiring place to sew.
