Hexagon Garden

£9.00

Hexagon Garden downloadable pattern

Finished Size: 51in x 53in
Skill level: Confident Beginner / Intermediate

So many spectacular designs can be created with a 60 degree triangle and here we have used just about every inch of a gorgeous French General jelly roll to make this quilt. The design emerges by piecing the triangle units into half-hexagon shapes, which are then assembled in vertical rows. This approach eliminates the need for set-in seams when connecting the hexagons. This is a super fun jelly roll quilt that goes together beautifully and looks more complicated than it actually is.

Requirements:

  • One jelly roll OR forty 21/2in strips cut across the width of the fabric

  • 50cm (20in) border fabric

  • 50cm (20in) binding fabric

  • 60º triangle measuring at least 6½in triangles (template provided)

IMPORTANT:
Our downloads are set in UK A4 paper size. If you are printing other than A4 size (US letter size for example) please make sure the templates (if you use them) are printed at 100%.

Techniques & Rulers:

  • 60º triangle measuring at least 6½in triangles. We used Creative Grids CGRT60 or CGRT12560 (template provided in the pattern as an alternative).

  • usual rotary cutting kit

  • machine piecing
